Welcome to Home Repairs Ministries!

HRM seeks to meet the needs of widows, foster families, single moms, elderly and disabled individuals by assisting with home maintenance and repair. The ministry serves anyone, regardless of religious background, in order to meet very real needs and build relationships, demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ. We bring volunteers together with a variety of churches and skills to serve families in the community.

The ministry is strongest where we have the most churches in the network, the northern suburbs of Atlanta, but is developing a network of affiliates throughout metro-Atlanta and seeks to offer help to other city-reaching groups across the country.

Big Changes Are in the Works! Pardon us as our website goes static for a short time. One of you, a volunteer and friend of the ministry, has stepped up and is building and hosting a new website, better email system and a comprehensive approach to use of the web and the way it help us communicate. The email address to use, at this point, is info@HomeRepairs.org

How can you help? If you are a volunteer, we need you to call us with a weekend you can serve or go to the Current Projects page to see what is needed in the next month or so and sign up. If you are a donor or have been, please know that we need you more than ever, not less. If you will seek the Lord's heart on the issue of increasing or beginning monthly support of HRM we'll be grateful. Of course volunteers can be part of the generous financial involvement, too.

Announcements

We trust that you are walking into 2009 with a deep trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and acknowledge his lordship over all things, even the economy. If you are not, we want to help you anyway. These are challenging days and most of us are looking carefully at our finances and being careful in how we spend. HRM is facing many of the same issues. However, the people we serve are facing the same issues but often with devastating effects. Whatever retirement savings many have counted on have been reduced by 30 to 40% or more. We have had elderly widows call us with no heat on these cold days and God has allowed us to respond through contractors who have donated time and through volunteers who can deal with minor repairs. We had a lady with a burst waterline (from freezing) that sprayed from one portion inside of the house onto another where the ceiling was soaked until it fell in. We located and provided donated firewood, twice. We organized re-roofing (in one day) a house for an elderly couple who are caring for her mother, and their daughter & granchild. Go to our Current Projects page to see how you and/or your church can serve the community using Kingdon Tools.
