What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well, keep warm and well fed", but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, "you have faith, I have deeds". Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. James 2: 14 & 18,
The Home Repairs Ministry has truly shown my family their faith – by what they do. And what a great and sacrificial faith in God we have seen.
I first heard about the ministry through another single mom who called them on my behalf. Having just moved back to Atlanta with my five children, I was overwhelmed. The Home Repairs Ministry was very important in that it linked me to the church and made me feel at home and cared for. As a matter of fact, in those initial months at our new church, Home Repairs Ministry was the only ministry that touched our everyday lives. How significant to our newly adjusting, and at times, fragile family. What could have been (many times) the proverbial “last straw” was not. Instead, when something got broken, HRM was right there with a joyful and helpful hand.
In the past year and a half, HRM has:
Each time we have had contact with any of the HRM volunteers, it has been a pleasure! Every person we have met has worked hard and smiled abundantly.
It can be a heavy burden to feel like you have to fix everything on your own – and don’t even know where to start or how to do it. Home Repairs Ministry has repeatedly lifted that load.
Every helper with their specific gifts and talents has brought encouragement and joy into our home as well. What a pleasure! And what an outstanding example of faith in God.
Home Repairs Ministry has been a hands on, hearts open help in time of need for my whole family.
Thank you all so very much for letting us experience God’s own love and care you serve Him!
In Christ,
